During the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry, Omar was a member of Lawrence Legal Team. Inquiry outcome was the McPherson Report in February 1999.

This experience gave birth to passion to fight discrimination and seek justice.

Omar utilises this to support others and ensure that everyone is able to provide their voices in a fair and equal manner due to his innate desire to help those in need and fight against inequality.

Omar on a pro bono basis represented a Director of a charity in summer of 1997 at Carlisle Crown Court.

Omar persuaded the Judge to allow the Director to keep his driving license upon tragic road accident and death of colleague whilst fund raising for Palestine.

The Judge stated that, “In the best of tradition of the English Bar Mr Faruk has come so far to represent his client on a pro bono basis. I commend Mr Faruk”.
